Every time I do a photography session I give myself a little assignment. For this Urban Session it was to find a place to shoot in Newport that was entirely new to me! Even though I HAD to use the Ferris wheel (one of my favorite spots), Anna and I still went to scout out a new, urban, funky, grungy area! Success….I love this alley and the old glass door. It doesn’t hurt that the Fernandez girls are cute as buttons and are experienced models. Mom and Dad did great as well. Thanks to the whole family for making the trip down to Newport!  Enjoy.undefined

There are all kinds of ways to get a cutie like this engaged in a photography session.   One of my favorites is “where is the turtle” (or ladybug, or frog, or lizard)?  We started by actually finding a lizard.  The only problem with the lizard, was he was getting all of the attention and love, and me and my trusty camera were forgotten.  Soooo, we moved on to, “Where’s the turtle?”  I love kids and their imaginations.  We never actually found a turtle, but we still had a great time playing the game.  The best part, is that this little doll is my friend Kim’s daughter, so she played right along with us!  I bet she is still searching for the turtle!  Enjoy!

Happy weekend!  Yesterday got away from me, so I am just blogging for Friday today!  One of my goals for 2011 was to add a little more personal information to “Clicking with Kristin”!  I am thinking that on Fridays, I will post something fun about my family, fashion, food or something else that is FABULOUS!

So anyway, on Wednesday I was going through our old archived files, and stumbled on several sessions of my kids from 7 or 8 years ago.  I was soo excited to see what each folder contained.  The first one I opened was this adorable session of my little ballerina and her sweet brother.  There are always things in the past that cause regret, but beautiful portrait sessions of my kids is one thing that I have done right from the very beginning.  Even when it wasn’t me taking the portraits, I always splurged on photography!  Going back though these sweet memories made my heart smile!  I know in all of the craziness of running my own company, I did something very right in taking the time to document my babies growing up!   Now that my daughter has the same shoe size as me, and that my son can look me directly in the eyes, I cherish these images even more.  In fact, my favorites are not the perfectly posed images, but the ones that truly show their personalities!  I love you babies!!!!!!!  Enjoy (I am sure for those of you who have been with us from the very beginning, you have lots of these beautiful images of your kids from the original studio on Moulton and La Paz!)

“I love this time of year because we get to do our fun Creative Sessions, which allows us to have a different kind of shoot with a theme.  The lighting, family and location for this creative session was so awesome, I love how the shots came out!  This beautiful family showed up on location with some great outfits!  They brought tons of awesome clothing, perfect for this whimsical setting.  I had such a great time on this shoot running after their little one and taking modeling shots of their beautiful boy.  The kids were truly a joy to be around and of course, as you can see, are just gorgeous!  Thank you so much for coming out and enjoying the morning with me!”  -Anna

After lots of scheduling and rescheduling this photography session, we finally got the whole family down to San Juan Capistrano!  I always love getting generational portraits and this was a great opportunity to get lots of family combinations.   I have not seen the two younger gals for a few years and it was great to have fun and be silly with the two of them.  Thanks so much to all of you for being patient with Anna and me as we walked all over San Juan.  Enjoy!
