#MomStaysinthePicture Mother’s Day Favorites
Mom and her daughters at the Newport Beach Balboa Fun Zone.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner and aside from maybe a spa day, or mani/pedis with champagne, we think Mother’s Day photos of mom’s loved ones are the BEST Mother’s Day gifts. In celebration of mom’s special day, we thought we’d remind you that #MomStaysinthePicture!
Of course moms always want photos of their precious babies, but we are firm believers that mom should exist in more family photos! As a photographer and mother, I know that moms don’t always feel like they want to be in family photos. Maybe you don’t have makeup on, or your hair isn’t right, or you want to lose some weight first.
As Allison Tate, who inspired the #MomStaysinthePicture challenge a few years back, put it:
“our sons need to see how young and beautiful and human their mamas were. Our daughters need to see us vulnerable and open and just being ourselves — women, mamas, people living lives. Avoiding the camera because we don’t like to see our own pictures? How can that be okay?”
Let this be a friendly reminder that years from now your children (and maybe even you) will look back at photos and be thankful that you were in them.
Let’s celebrate some moms who’ve had the courage to be included in the photos we’ve shot over the years!
Fun photos of moms and their kids from all over Orange County.
This classic, yet sweet mother-daughter photo has been a favorite for years. Maybe it’s time for a recreation?
Who doesn’t love a precious mother and baby photo like this?
Even as the kids grow #MomStaysinthePicture
As our kids get older and busier, it’s sometimes easy to forget about taking yearly family photos. But we love these portraits of moms and their older children.
We hope that you get some great pictures with your children this Mother’s Day. Remember, you deserve to exist in your family’s photos. Your children will treasure the memories their entire lives.
And I guess it wouldn’t be right to tell you to get into those family photos without sharing a few photos of me and my kiddos!
