You may recognize Zane as our model groom from a styled session at Sweet Pea Ranch a few weeks back. Zane did such a great job modeling with Kelsey, that I suggested he come back for some additional head shots, so he can pursue more modeling opportunities. This week’s weather was a little crazy, but fortunately we had some beautiful diffused sunshine on Friday afternoon. One of my greatest joys is showing people how amazing they can look in a photograph, especially women. In fact, I really love working with gals of all ages. From the preteen that is just learning how to wear makeup and do their hair to helping create a fresh new look for Moms, I just really love making people feel beautiful.
So, I declare March Model Makeover month. This is great session for high school seniors who want a fun, fashion inspired photography session and for Moms that want to give a gift to themselves and for anyone feeling like they want to reinvent themselves. I have 20 spots available for a personalized photography session. Each session includes professionally applied makeup, hair styling, a clothing consultant to help put three or four great looks together and a 90 minute fully directed photography session with me. We will even throw in an 8×10 print for free.
After the session, we will present you with 40-50 fully edited photos that can go into an album or book, onto the wall or be made into one of a kind art pieces for you to enjoy for years to come.

Where did this summer go to??? It was too fast, and I want it back. Thank goodness that we still get amazing weather in September and October. I vow to spend a least one beach day before the leaves start changing color.
Anyway….one of my favorite things about being a photographer is the great friendships I have made over the years with my clients. I feel like a small part of lots of great families, being there to document the changes over the years both in how the kiddos look and how their personalities evolve.
I have been photographing this absolute beauty for many years with her gorgeous sister and family. I have never had the opportunity to spend a lot of one on one time with her, so it was such a pleasure to photographer her for her budding modeling career. She is a truly talented dancer and well as a natural beauty, so we focus the session on both.
Thankfully I had her sister and Mom to assist me during the session and we had lots of laughs getting the perfect expression. Thanks for making me a part of the Hulley family! Enjoy!
So I am going to put on my braggin Momma hat for just a second and tell you that this beautiful gal played Juliet and my son, Cameron, was Romeo in the Middle school play last year….. needless to say, I was really excited when her mom called me to book a modeling/ headshot session for her! Even though Cameron and Kasey made me promise to “NOT” ask her to say “Romeo” to get her to smile, I did it anyway (of course I let her know that I was just kiddin around).
We just recently launched our Teen/ High School senior website ( click here to check it out) and I am so excited to roll my sleeves up and get creative with high school kids! These are some of my favorite sessions, cause I not only get to be the photographer, but I get to help the guys and gals with styling, clothing, hair and makeup!
For Gigi’s session, we started in my studio and then jumped into my van and cruised around Laguna Beach. There are so many fabulous places to shoot, that we spent nearly three hours running around! It is like tax season around Blue Sky’s Studio, rushing around finishing up holiday cards, and making sure all the holiday gifts go out the door in time to put under the tree. In the middle of the madiness, we also moved into a new photography studio with beautiful, natural northern light.
If you are puzzling over last minute holiday gift ideas for teen girls or boys, you might consider a fashion inspired photography session in our new studio. They bring 4-5 of their favorite outfits, we bring accessories, etc and your young adults get to see what it feels like to be a real model. The best part is that you have an entire portfolio of beautiful shots of your child. The added bonus is, it really empowers kids and helps them see how beautiful/ handsome they really are!
